Oh my god! who is ALAWI DAHALIN!?
Report lodged against Teresa Kok for insulting EGG
KUALA LUMPUR (Sept 24, 2008) : The Seputeh Umno Youth division lodged a police report today against Seputeh MP Teresa Kok, claiming she had insulted the Royal Malaysian Police and the egg, which is an essential food of the underprivileged.
The division’s deputy head Alawi Dahalin and several other members lodged the report at the Brickfields police station.
Alawi said he had heard Kok complain about the food she was given while detained under the ISA, at a press conference at the DAP headquarters in Petaling Jaya, shown on the night news on TV on Sept 20, a day after she was released from custody.
He said Kok had said the food she was served was "fit only for dogs".
"By saying this, she had insulted the police and the poor. Eggs are an important food for low-income earners and the poor. As an elected representative of the people she should not have said that," he said.
Over throw BN , Throw Nuclear plan!
In 2000, the German government announced to phase-out the use of nuclear energy. They are gradually closing down the country's 19 nuclear power station.
They become the first leading economic power officially to announce its intention to phase out the use of nuclear energy. This is followed by an election pledge by the Social Democrat-Green Party coalition government to establish a plan for phasing out the country's nuclear energy production. The last plant is scheduled to shut down in 2021.
Recently, they are worried that they will not have enough experts to safely phase-out nuclear power. Above all the problems of shutting down a reactor is: How to dispose of and tend the radioactive waste ?
Germany is surrounded by some 150 reactors in Western and Eastern Europe. Memories of the 1986 Chernobyl disaster are strong in Germany, and the experts say the risk of reactor accidents after 2021 will be entirely in the hands of other nations.
In 20 Sept 2008, The Star reported: Malaysia to use nuclear energy by 2023
By SARBAN SINGH
GEMENCHEH: Malaysia will use nuclear energy to produce electricity by 2023 as global supplies of natural gas and coal deplete.
Energy, Water and Communications Minister Datuk Shaziman Abu Mansor said the Government was left with no choice but to use nuclear energy as it was the better alternative.
“I will be briefing the Cabinet in a fortnight. We have no choice but to start the ball rolling. You cannot say you want to use nuclear power in the next few months, and expect everything to be in place,” he said at the Mara Junior Science College here yesterday.
His ministry and the Science, Technology and Innovation Ministry have prepared a paper on the nuclear energy issue.
Shaziman said the exceptionally-high prices of gas and coal were another reason the Government had to start looking for alternatives.
The price of coal, at US$70 (RM242) per tonne in June, had almost tripled recently. It was hovering between US$140 (RM485) and US$180 (RM623) per tonne now.
“When the Government raised electricity tariffs in June, it had expected the price of coal to remain around US$75 (RM260) per tonne. But the increase in coal prices had been exceptional and we need to act now,” he said.
Shaziman said the Government might also review its earlier decision to remove gas subsidies by only 5% annually.
“We feel the price of gas should reflect the market rate. The Government now gives a 70% discount and this is no longer viable,” he said, adding that although Petronas had sufficient gas reserves, it was for future use.
On a separate matter, Shaziman said the Government would start the construction of the Air Ngoi-ngoi treatment plant next year instead of in the 10th Malaysia Plan because of the high demand for treated water in Nilai and Enstek. The plant will produce 350 million litres of water a day.
Shaziman said the ministry had also sought an additional RM150mil from the Government for the construction of the Teriang dam next year to address the shortage of untreated water supply for the Sg Terip and Sg Linggi dams particularly during the dry season.
Throw this insensible plan , over throw the BN Government !

Free Teresa Kok, abolish ISA!
Chong Eng Appointed As DAP Support, Sympathy & Solidarity(SSS) For Free Teresa, Abolish ISA National Committee To Free All ISA Detainees As Well As Malaysia From Draconian Laws Such As The ISA.
At the DAP Central Executive Council emergency committee meeting last night, DAP National Wanita chief and MP for Bukit Mertajam Chong Eng has been appointed as DAP SSS National Committee Chair to “Free Teresa, Abolish ISA” to free all ISA detainees as well as Malaysia from draconian laws such as the ISA.
DAP welcomes the people’s victory in forcing the BN government to capitulate and immediately release Sin Chew Daily reporter Tan Hoon Cheng. Tan had made history by becoming the shortest ISA detainee in history of less than 24 hours. We hope to make ISA history and release all ISA detainees by applying on sustained unbearable public pressure to release DAP National Organising Secretary, MP for Seputih, ADUN For Kinrara and Selangor State EXCO Teresa Kok, blogger Raja Petra Kamarudin, Hindraf 5 and all other detainees.
Only by making ISA history can we ensure that the ridiculous grounds, of being detained because of posing a threat to national security that is not backed up by facts or evidence but only mere opinion and sentiment, can never be misused or abused again. We must make ISA history to ensure that innocent journalists such as Tan can not be detained for their own protection and whilst being so “protected” are treated as a detainee and put in a lock-up.
Whilst the people’s success in forcing the BN government to capitulate on Tan, we must not stop but focus harder on securing the release of other detainees. Our success must not let us forget that there are still other ISA detainees detained and for that reason we must apply sustained unbearable pressure on the government.
The DAP SSS Committee on Free Teresa, Abolish ISA will focus on civil disobedience campaigns that are peaceful and non-violent such as candlelight vigils, forums and prayer meetings. The DAP CEC will also instruct all DAP functions to be immediately turned into a “Free Teresa, Abolish ISA” campaign.
The CEC also approved an emergency resolution:-
THE CEC RESOLVES to sternly condemn the detention without trial under the Internal Security Act (ISA) of DAP Member of Parliament and Selangor State Exco member, Saudari Teresa Kok Suh Sim, Raja Petra Kamaruddin and others as arbitrary, high-handed and a mockery of democracy. By labeling Teresa Kok and others as threats to national security without any shred of evidence is a travesty of justice and a gross violation of human rights.
THE CEC STRESSES that neither Teresa Kok nor any DAP leader had ever stoked religious sentiment or played racial issues. The denial by the Masjid Kota Damansara and Masjib Kinrara that Teresa Kok was involved in azan controversy asking for a reduction on the speaker volume absolves her from any blame. In fact, both mosques deny that there was any azan controversy.
THE CEC RESOLVES that the Barisan Nasional government should not use draconian powers under the ISA to cling on to power and demands the immediate and unconditional release of Teresa, Raja Petra Kamaruddin, Hindraf 5 and other ISA detainees.
THE CEC FURTHER RESOLVES to demand the immediate repeal of the ISA to prevent abuses that oppress the fundamental liberties of the people.

Abolish teaching Maths and Science in English! Improve English Teaching!
I really do not like the way of those English-educated elites talk about teaching Maths and Science in English to improve English , such articles appear frequently online and in the English newspapers recently, I think only these people carry such logic, why don't they say if we know to play piano then we will know how to play violin? that's absurb!
------
In this interview, the professor, Datuk Isahak Haron compared the teaching methods in different schools:
Report from: New Sunday Times
Q: From your study, would you say Malay students have lost the most because of this policy?
A: Yes, rural Malays -- 70 per cent of them. But we found it's not only Malay students outside towns who are suffering, it's also the poorer Malay students in towns -- those of lower socio-economic status, even in Ipoh and KL.
Q: Why do non-Malays do better?
A: When it comes to Mathematics, Chinese students have traditionally done better, because they have more practice. But first, they learn it in their own language. The emphasis in Chinese schools is to understand and practise until you get it right. So they will drill knowledge first in Chinese, and then have a Mathematics lesson in English, just to get a grasp on the terminology. That means mastery of the content first. When the fundamentals are strong and you move to Form One and Form Two, you are much better. There's less of this in Sekolah Kebangsaan.
Q: Is it the same case then for Indian students?
A: A bit like that. And they now have extra coaching through tuition and they're better at English than the Malay students, so they perform better.
Q: Is the system being used in Chinese schools a better way to go if the government wants to continue with this policy?
A: If you want to continue with this, you have to do what the Chinese schools do. You teach in Bahasa Malaysia and later learn the terminology in English. And if you want to improve the level of English, first, the number of periods of English lessons has to be increased. During the English lesson, you can put in elements of Science and Mathematics. In this way, you increase your vocabulary and learn in a more joyful way. English must be taught by people who are good in English, not by a Maths teacher who is not so good in English. When the students are good in Mathematics and Science, they will be able to understand the concepts of the subjects in English or any other language. The mix in these languages is the worst thing happening now. The teachers cannot teach properly. They are confused and their foundation is weak.

Restore The Rights Of The Indigenous People Of Sarawak
This is taking the form of a massive native land grab through a legal and systematic means of forcing them to give up their ancestral lands or lands over which they have native customary rights that are recognized by the country’s highest courts and the Sarawak Land Code and giving away of such lands to companies closely connected with State Government leaders, the political elites and cronies.
By losing their NCR lands, they lose their farms, the forests where they collect timber for housing, where they go out for hunting and for fishing. And they continue to suffer on account of the insatiable greed of the politicians in power who clearly show scant regard for human rights as food crops and homes are often bulldozed and the natives left landless and homeless.
Even the law-enforcement agencies, particularly the Police, are colluding with the plantation companies and failing or refusing to act when the affected indigenous farmers lodge official complaints against encroachment of their NCR land and the destruction to their crops and properties.
This system of legal genocide continues unabated in the face of a deliberate collusion between State Government leaders and large commercial interests and is leading to an extremely dangerous situation as the authorities even resort deploy the Police and even Army to make arrests when the natives put up a stand to defend their ancestral farming lands.
We are therefore extremely concerned at the land grab that is going on in Sarawak as this would lead to serious consequences and implications for the future well-being and livelihood of the indigenous groups of Sarawak, especially the non Muslim Dayaks people.
We strongly support the indigenous people’s struggle to protect their land for their survival. We demand that the:
1. The Federal Government of Malaysia shall undertake to revise inconsistent laws in order to abide by Article 5 of the Federal Constitution of Malaysia which enshrines the guarantee of right to life for every inhabitant of its land
2. State Government of Sarawak to uphold the Native Customary Rights (NCR) as guaranteed under the Sarawak Land Code (1958) and to recognize the NCR status of all affected parties who can prove the existence of their claim to these rights
3. State Government of Sarawak shall respect and abide by the case precedent established by the Federal Court of Malaysia’s decision of Madeli Salleh vs Government of Sarawak, which states very clearly that the customary rights of inhabitants were recognized and accepted by the British Crown when it governed Sarawak. It became part of common law and therefore shall be recognized as being a fundamental right.
4. State Government of Sarawak shall cease the issuance of “provisional leases” (PL) for NCR disputed land with immediate effect
5. The Federal Government of Malaysia shall recognize the relevance of all convenants and instruments on human rights and make haste to ratify and to conform to all these said Charters.
6. State Government of Sarawak shall undertake to provide protection for the safety of the
indigenous people to stop them from all forms of harassment, intimidation and threats of physical and bodily harm that arises from land disputes
7. In instances before NCR land is requested for commercial development via partnerships with
government agencies and/or private sector initiatives, it shall be an imperative condition that free, fair, prior and informed consent be obtained from the affected communities in accordance to the principles of transparency, the principles of right of access to information and the principle of the inherent to know by all parties involved.
If the State Government of Sarawak fails to comply with the above demands, then the Federal Government of Malaysia must come forward to take appropriate steps to protect NCR lands, the lives and livelihoods of the indigenous people.
Sincerely,
